Moultrie Digital Game Watcher 2.1 MP Camera

Recommended Posts

I have been told that this cam eats batterys like crazy. Do any of you use this model and if so, about how many pics can you squeeze out of one 6 volt battery?

Thanks,

Mark

I don't use mine anymore since it was vandalized, but I didn't consider it a battery hog. I'll bet I got 300 pic's per battery.

Wow, I guess my perspective is off a little. My couescam from Scott, coues7, can get 2000 to 3000 pics (depending on flash usage) from a 9 volt and 4 c cell batterys.

Yep, I guess it's all perspective. When I first started using trail cameras with film, they would use like two 9 volts, and 4 C's and all you would get was like 50-60 pic's. The moultrie was my first digital and I thought it was great because it got so many pic's from one battery. Now I also use home brew cameras and they can get 500-600 pic's from two AA's and a 9 volt battery. They could get thousands of pic's if I added the extra battery packs like you have in yours.

I picked up two of the Moultrie 4.1 enhanced Outfitter cams at Cabelas that were advertised for $99 a couple weeks ago. I had over 600 pics on one, and 450 on another both in a one week time span, and the 6v batteries were fine so I left them out for another week after changing the sd cards out. Darn quail and doves set the thing off like crazy! I think its not only how many pics, but how long the cam is left turned on and sensing. I feel that both play a factor, so the # of pics is not a true indication of battery life. I'll let you know how many pics I get before I have to charge the battery. Hope this helps.
