Brian27 Report post Posted February 17, 2014 Guys, I just had a birthday and I an going to treat myself to a new pack for hunting animals/antlers but what's the best one for the money? I always wanted a badlands pack but are the the best? Any one have a horn hunter? Are they as good or better? They seem less pricy than the badlands.. Any other packs worth looking at under $300?? coueser4 Report post Posted February 17, 2014 I would take a look at the easton fullbore pack. This pack is awesome. It is hugely expandable with a giant stuff sack yet is perfect for a day pack as well. Has the big flaps with buckles similar to the horn hunter packs that are great for strapping anything down on your pack. A packout of an animal or a full load of animals is done with no problem. It is a very comfortable pack and fully adjustable and has great support and a solid lightweight frame. Best of all you can see them on camofire.com for around $100. I went and checked it out at cabelas and knew it was the perfect pack I've been waiting to buy and then I saw it on camofire and pulled the trigger. Enjoyed the pack ever since. You posed the question for "best pack for the money?" Well I think this is it. Worth a good look in my opinion.

Shawn Report post Posted February 17, 2014 I have had the Horn Hunter main beam XL for about 4 or 5 years now. It has been a great pack. Have had 80 plus pounds in it with no problems. Lifetime guarantee and made in the USA.
PatrickJr Report post Posted February 17, 2014 a bit pricey but I think the outdoorsman's opticshunter is the best on the market, I always am carrying like 30 pounds of stuff in there, and the whole backpack compartment can come off and turns the frame into a pack frame, you can fit a elk quarter on the pack frame, so im sure you can fit a lot of shed antlers there. last December, I fit a whole coues deer(gutted) in the main compartment, go to the website and read about it,
joelpresmyk8 Report post Posted February 17, 2014 I'll add one vote for the horn hunter full curl system. I got lucky and picked one up off of amazon for 179 shipped! It's the best pack I have ever owned. It's super comfortable and versatile. You can wear it as just the pack frame for sheds, or throw the big compartment on to pack out animals. And add a third little back pack on to have even more room. Which also doubles as a small day pack! It's basically 3 packs in one. I use it all the time for shed hunting and I just went on a newzealand backpack hunt for a week and it worked awesome!

bonecollector777 Report post Posted February 17, 2014 The full bore from Easton is a great pack. I bought one around Christmas time and I love it. You can load a lot of antlers on it without having a problem I'm sure. And can't beat the price for 89 bucks on camofire

Brian27 Report post Posted February 18, 2014 Guys, thanks for the camofire.com tip. I pulled the trigger on the Fullbore and added a hydration day pack by Easton for $30... The fact that the Fullbore is adjustable sold me. I am 6-3 and most pack seen too short for comfort. Cant wait to see it. Thanks again Brian
elpepe25 Report post Posted February 18, 2014 good deal. Maybe post a review after you put it through it paces
Brian27 Report post Posted February 23, 2014 I got my packs on Friday. Camofire ships quick. I like the fullbore so far. the main pocket in the pack is smaller than I thought it would be but the dry bag is there if I need to pack a lot of gear. It is adjustable and fits me fine at 6'3.'' I cant wait to take it out but I will be returning the Easton Hydration day pack. It is much smaller than I thought and didn't include a bladder so it is really just a hydration compatible pack. As far as I can tell none of the Easton pack come with a bladder but they all are compatible.
bonecollector777 Report post Posted February 23, 2014 That's what I like about the full bore. It's not huge all the time like a badlands. If you need it to be 3600 cubic inches you can use the big bag that attaches. If you just need to carry some smaller things or carry a load of horns you can leave the big bag back at camp.
