azslim Report post Posted February 15, 2014 kind of a 'yes' answer, either one will do the trick, may boil down to price difference and warranty, while both are good Vortex would get your stuff back quicker, at least based on reports that have to use the warranty
Willyhunts2 Report post Posted February 15, 2014 All I have been buying lately has been vortex. Their warranty is best in the biz from what I hear over and over again but have yet to send anything back to them so don't know personally. I have had to call about a few issues and the customer service is great compared to Nikon and bushnell for sure. As far as zeiss goes awesome scopes and binos but I've never bought anything from them. Vortex has been an up and rising company these last 5 years, they made a name for themselves and prices are starting to show it too.
Antmo23 Report post Posted February 15, 2014 Ive looked thru a lot of Vortex and its the brand I steer new hunters towards for their first set of nocs. Having said that, although Vortex has great glass for the money, Zeiss is still on another level. Look thru them both, side by side, and see which one works best for your eyes. SwarovskiCoues Report post Posted February 15, 2014 zeiss conquest IMO are better glass, i compared both before the sun goes down and noticed the zeiss are crisper and gather more light and i feel as if the razors hurt my eyes after a minute of so. just not a vortex believer myself. conquest go for 999.99 and razors are 1200 roughly. and zeiss has a no fault warranty on the conquest btw
sjvcon Report post Posted February 15, 2014 I went through the same decision last year. I love the Zeiss glass, but there wasn't much difference to me after much time looking through both. At the end of the day it came down to warranty. Vortex NO FAULT is the best around. Couldn't get around that ... so I went with the Razors. Not dissatisfied. shanehamblin Report post Posted February 15, 2014 I'd pick the razors but look thru them both an see what's best for you
PRDATR Report post Posted February 16, 2014 Vortex really aren't in the same league as Zeiss but they are a great glass and good buy. They are close to the top of the "second string" binos. Leica, Swarovski and Zeiss are still the Gold Standard but if you don't have that kind of budget you can pretty much justify the rest of what's out there.
