metau Report post Posted February 1, 2014 I'm in the middle of redoing my garage and have found a bunch of decoys I no longer use. I'd much rather them be used by a young hunter just getting into the sport, as that is how I came to own most of them. Here's the catch: I would like you to share with the site how you got into waterfowl hunting, or a story about your favorite trip, or least favorite trip, fondest memory so far, etc. Who ever has the best story by the end of the day next friday, the 7th, will get the gear. Oh yeah, your parents also have to vouch for you that your grades are up to par. The gear will be available for pick up in the Cave Creek/New River area next weekend, and I would suggest an SUV or truck bed to pick everything up. I will try to get some pictures up this afternoon.

7greenheads Report post Posted February 6, 2014 My name is Grady Lefebvre I am 16 years old and have been waterfowl hunting since I was 8 years old .I haven't got it out of my blood since.i really love watching the birds work the decoys this is the only way I hunt them no puddle jumping for me. I also really enjoy the time in the blind with my Dad ,14 year old brother Garrett ,and a couple of other friends that are my age. Oh and I almost forgot my 3 year old yellow lab named trigger who retrieves great. One of the most memorable hunts for me although there are many,It was the day before the opener last October me my brother and dad scouted out a bunch of birds, for the first hunt of the season so the next morning we got set up about and hour before shooting light.10 minutes before light there was just thousands of ducks flying around and landing in our decoys so we new once shooting light came to keep the shells close cause we were gonna use them.make a long story short we killed our 3 man limit with 21 ducks by 8:00am with teal, pintails, gadwalls, and spoonies. It couldn't have been a better hunt to kick off the 2013-2014 waterfowl season with my Dad, and brother. Duck hunting is awesome I love it I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't dream of a flock of mallards commin down from the heavens into my spread....Kill em Boys BOOM BOOM BOOM fetch em trigger this is what I live for......and I could always use some more waterfowl gear because I buy all my dekes, shells, calls, clothes, and dog food and I could always use a bigger spread.thank you for reading this and have a great day.
tjhunt2 Report post Posted February 6, 2014 This just blows my mind. I have been buying decoys in hopes of retiring and getting into duck hunting with my lab. Well, my retirement got put on hold and I needed the money so I sold all my decoys here on cwt before I had a chance to use them. I pushed my retirement back to the end of the year and not sure my dog would even retrieve a duck. Do I qualify with the best story so far? Oh, I see it has to be a youth telling the story. This is just unbelievable no one has jumped on this. Hurry up 6ANut and have some kids. TJ

metau Report post Posted February 6, 2014 I know a young (19) college kid who may be interested if you're willing to give to an older kid. Seeing as how I was a freshman in college when I was given them, I guess I cannot see why not to include him/her as well.

Hunter Rath Report post Posted February 6, 2014 My name is Hunter Rath I'm 15 and have been hunting ducks and waterfowl ever since I could shoot steel shot. I don't really use decoys or calls that's because my dad and I hunt rivers mainly. I want to get some decoys and supplies so I can hunt lakes better especially horse shoe lake. I bought a springer spaniel puppy last May and she is dynamite at 9 months old so this year was very experimental and all training but next year will be better so I was hoping to get some hunting supplies. I actually know Grady. I go to school with him and he told about this so now it's kind of contest between us. If you need to contact me you can email me at kawasakirules11@gmail.com or text me at 623 565 2730 thank you
