peloncillo Report post Posted January 28, 2014 I spent last week hunting with Justo and my brother again. The hospitality and food were second to none. I just wish the weather would have been cooler. I didn't see as many deer this year I think because it was too hot. I actually passed on the buck I later killed and I missed a buck that was a little bigger. My brother was holding out for a really big one but it never worked out. If any of you are crossing at the Nogales port the Military base just changed their hours to inspect rifles so make sure you get there early. Keven

Couestracker Report post Posted January 28, 2014 Yea, it was hot last week when I was there too. Didn't see many deer as in December. Looks like you had fun and got a nice buck though. Congratulations and thanks for sharing your hunt with us.
Chef Report post Posted January 28, 2014 Way to go Keven. Nice of you guys to make the best of it. That wide buck certainly adds to your collection! I still can't believe how much hiking you guys were able to pack into your week at Justo's ranch. That ranch is immense, and can be pretty rugged. Congratulations again my friend! cramerhunts Report post Posted January 28, 2014 Seeing those pictures sure makes me wish I would of been there with you buddy! You are a hiking machine as I know what is required to get to those places where you were. Even though the weather and the deer didn't cooperate I know the hospitality and food made up for it. You worked your tail off and you ended up with a great buck. Congratulations again and thanks for the pictures.
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted January 28, 2014 Looks like some BIG country! Congratulations on your fine buck under tough conditions! Love the green on the antlers from rubbing and the extra nubs at the bases.
joeeden Report post Posted January 28, 2014 Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I sure love Mexico. Seeing all of these pictures is killing me. I am not going to make the mistake of not going down there every year. Even if it's just to help. It is so different and so amazing. If you have never gone, figure out how to go. Congrats! Sounds like you made the best of some tough conditions.
