Antmo23 Report post Posted January 23, 2014 I just got finished emptying out my old hunting pack (sitka flash 20) and organizing my brand new Kuiu Icon 1850 and all I can say is that I just lost 7lbs! The weight savings is amazing! The Icon, fully loaded is lighter that the fully loaded sitka(or $hitka as we call it). AND, there's no need for a pack frame like with the sitka! Everything is very well laid out and it is super comfy, can't wait to put to good use!
Antmo23 Report post Posted January 23, 2014 And as a side note, I have never experienced such outstanding customer service as I did when I called customer service for Kuiu. The wonderful young lady that took my order, Alicia, and Charlie, whom I dealt with about my credit card issues (desert school...) went far above and beyond their duties to make me one extremely satisfied customer. If you're in the market for the best ultralight hunting gear money can buy, and some of, if not thee best customer service in the industry, go to Kuiu.com and DO YOUR RESEARCH. P.s. And no, I'm not on their payroll, just a very happy customer paying it forward to like minded outdoorsman/outdoors women.
DesertBull Report post Posted January 23, 2014 Does it have a rifle scabbard?
MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted January 23, 2014 my kelty weighs 3 lbs and has held up great no issues and is 170 bucks, no need to spend like a king on a pack. the hunting pack market is crazy and some are very nice but too much money. most high end packs are heavier than my pack but double the price if not more. congrats on a very nice pack, if i had expendable cashflow i would do this pack its a good design
Antmo23 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 No on the scabbard. I've heard of people adding one but doesn't come with one. The carbon fiber frame has load lifters that stick up so your rifle won't slide off your shoulder.

Yes sir, I wish it was fully loaded weight. I just know I look at these hunting specific packs and they are all heavier than mine and cost alot more. My buddy has the badlands 4500 or whatever and its 6 plus pounds empty. I will stick with mine and buy another when it takes a dump and still will not have spent as much as he did. Antmo23 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 Yeah, this one comes in at 4.5 lbs empty for the full kit. i have it fully loaded and i still can't believe that i haven't forgotten anything and that i don't have to put it on a pack frame! As for the price, with all of the gift cards i got for xmas and my bday, i got paid $35 to take it! talk about a smoking deal!
azpredator@work Report post Posted January 24, 2014 Love my 1850. Also like how I can use it as a stand alone pack or attach it to the carbon frame for load hauling.

So this is listed as a daypack, are you backpacking or just day hunting with it? Mine I use backpacking up to 7 days, I really like the set up and 4.5 isnt bad for weight, actually they list on the website at 3.9 lbs. If It would work for extended trips and I could get a deal like that I would go for it too. Let us know how it holds up
Antmo23 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 From what I've read, it'll work for a 2-3 day backpack. ill be using it as a daypack/meathauler. ill write up a report as soon as i can get away from work and the kids. i thought i was able to do what i wanted to do on my bday? lok
