Pond Jumping Ducks

Recommended Posts

Over this past week I was able to get out for some pond jumping. I should have limited each day, but unfortunately I suck at shooting. Some of the ponds are almost impossible to sneak on, because of all the brush. The birds are able to jump up before I'm ready or they are too far by the time I see them. Very frustrating! I keep looking for a Goose, but no luck yet.

I used to hunt ducks. Shot plenty but never got a pintail. What a perty duck.

I'm getting the biggest green head, both pin tails $ the GWT Drake mounted. My taxidermy bill for the year is already thru the roof, so why not add some more:)

Cool! You just never know when a goose might show up. We've had some surprises but they are few and far between.

did you happen to see how many curls those mallards had??? You'll want to mount the one with the best and most curls on the tail.

Here's a picture of the two Duck's my son shot last night. He's shot some coots before, but these are his first real Duck's.

We don't use any dogs. We usually throw rocks to make waves that push the duck to the shore. We make it a game. It's actually a lot of fun.
