AZ_SAWBUCK Report post Posted January 22, 2014 I got another one............................ I wasn't there but my cousin (by marriage) is a lion hunter and had one of his good dogs being mauled by a MT. Lion. When he got to the scene the lion had his dog pinned in-between some rocks. Rather than shoot lion directly for a quick kill, he walked up to the fight and shot the lion in the side of the head so he wouldn't kill his dog as well. I'm talking like a foot from the side of the lions head...........CRAZY! This is the same guy who climbs trees with lions in them to jump lions out to make the dogs track more. Thought you were nuts? trphyhntr Report post Posted January 22, 2014 Seriously? Suffocating a buck? We owe these deer a lot more respect than that! And you should pack out your trash any how.... its not a new rule. how do you know he didnt pack out the bag when he was done?
johnnie blaze Report post Posted January 22, 2014 I'm a little hung up on the zip-lock bag buck suffocation death... want to hear more about it! Incredible. I had shot a decent buck, a 90", and my old man wanted the hide for a deer he killed years ago. The shot was good, obviously not good enough. My hunting bud and I were standing over the buck and he wouldn't die. Didn't have a small calliber, didn't wanna shoot the mag at close range or slit his throat, so we decided the best way was to take the sandwich outta the bag, pin the deer down and suffocate him. It worked, but wasn't easy. I'll never try it again. FYI, REALLY? LEAVE THE BAG ON THE MOUNTAIN? rolling eyeballs*

bowhuntaz1 Report post Posted January 23, 2014 I went out to set some bobcat traps today. I ended up parking by a red Dodge with Montana plates. Hoping not to be spotted, I took off pretty quick with my stuff. I'm back in there about 300 yards when I see something move. Then it moved again, and again, and again. Something was going up and down.I put my traps down and low and behold, 2 guys looking to be in their 60's jump up nude with both of their digits pointing North. They were umm, umm, umm doing more than sunbathing... I told them to go get a room, that they were on public land, and they were lucky I did not have my daughter on this trip.... I ended up hiking in a little further in than normal... They were gone by the time I got back to the truck.

bowhuntinmaniac Report post Posted January 23, 2014 Years ago, I used to catch rattlers, cut their spine thru their mouth and, trade them for taxidermy work. Well, once when I was driving, I found a nice coontail crossing the highway and, I cut his spine but, didn't have a bag to put him in so, I just threw him in the console of my Bronco. When I got home, I opened the console and my friend started to look in. All at once, I heard the familiar rattle and immediately shut the lid. My friend looked at me and his eyes were as big as baseballs. That was a neat experience getting that mad snake out of there..

Shooter McGavin Report post Posted January 23, 2014 I caught a 6' gopher snake while dove hunting. I knew my buddy hated snakes so I stuffed it into his soft style gun case and just waited until he came back. He approached his jeep and asked if I had got anything and I said no, he replied me neither. I walked up to the side of his CJ-7 and waited. As he unzipped the case and flung the case open that friggin snake shot out of ther like a cannon right at him. I nearly dropped my shotgun laughing so hard and he denies it but the whole way home I swear I smelled something, and it wasn't a baby ruth.
Elkhunter1 Report post Posted January 23, 2014 Here is another one for ya: Way back when I was a wee lad, my brother and I went out at first light to our Dove pond. After the morning flight was over we headed home for breakfast. I had killed a slithering big friend and left him in the back room and went back out to hunt Quail and what ever else jumped out. We had a good day out in the field, however when we got home I was the first through the door. As I cleared the door I was hit with a broom, and mom was on the other end. She went in the back room to put some laundry into the dryer and was struck by the rattler I had forgot about. She looked at her ankle and saw blood then saw the snake and freaked out. It took her a few to see that his head was gone and the blood was his not hers. She stomped on us for over 30 minutes on the reasons not leave them in the back room on the floor. The next week I killed another one and bagged it and put it in the freezer, she didn't like that place either!
