joeeden Report post Posted January 19, 2014 I believe the "HD" stands for High Dollar or Huge Dent in your wallet. ROFLMAO. I can't wait to hear all the BS about the ones that a short time ago were absolutely the best money could buy, and if ya didn't have them ya weren't going to be able to spot game. But now will become unworthy to carry to the mountain. I'll stick with my Kiababs . After all I noticed that while glassing elk for my grandson and his dad. That I was able to spot elk in the morning before they were able to see them through their rifle scopes!!! Does everyone think they need to buy > than 3000 dollar scopes. Or do ya just flat think it may have been well before legal shooting time???? :o When do ya all high rollers think good becomes good enough?? Take care, Willie Jealous much? If you don't want to buy expensive optics then don't. No need to hate the guys that do buy them.
couesmagnet Report post Posted January 19, 2014 The kaibab binos are pretty good, but don't hold any water compared to the existing slc's. i had 2 guys this year in the field and both had the kaibab's , by the end of the hunt both were going to sell the kaibab's as soon as they got home for money for 15x slc's.
Guest wdenike Report post Posted January 19, 2014 Why do you care how other people spend their dollars. Well you asked. So I will try to be as kind as possible. I really don't care if others use their money to start the fire in camp. I just find it amusing when they try and convince others it is the best, and most common sense approach to get it done. And feel the need to use jealousy and hate as the order of the day to justify a purchase.. And also I have never had a problem buying the best available product for the money. But refuse to allow some one to smear mayonnaise and glitter (BS ) over something . And talk me out of hard earned money for something that accomplishes the same thing as another product does for less. This being said if your tax bracket affords you the luxury to drive down highways flinging hundred dollar bills out the window. Fire away just don't expect those that think better to jump at the opportunity to join in. Take care, Willie

After all you did spend $1100 dollars for a pair of binos. When you could've gotten a $59 pair of tascos that as you said "accomplishes the same thing for less"? Just food for thought. Speaking of food, I'm betting you've never let someone "talk you out of your hard earned money" for a steak because you can get a hamburger that "accomplishes the same thing for less".
joeeden Report post Posted January 19, 2014 Well, I don't have an order in. I'm curious why you give a rip who is ordering what? It sounds like you're not being fooled by the hype. Good for you. Great restraint.
Guest wdenike Report post Posted January 19, 2014 QUOTE YOTEBUSTER : After all you did spend $1100 dollars for a pair of binos. When you could've gotten a $59 pair of tascos that as you said "accomplishes the same thing for less"? Really??? We aren't really going to make that kind of comparison ( APPLES & ORANGES ) I'm just going to reply one more time, as there is to much good on this site to turn this into a pissin match. But if I were a betting man. I would make these comparisons. The circle that rub elbows in this discussion are the same that could care less how deep in our pocket the AZGF gets. And also believe the answer to all long range shooting is a NIGHTFORCE. But the cold hard truth is to be successful when dealing with the successful taking of wild life. You have to be both a woodsmen, and a marksman. Simply put you can't buy your way to success. More bluntly if ya couldn't hit a bull in the arse with a shovel, or if the only game you can see are trophy deer and elk etched in the glass of the green jewels. No amount of money spent will bale ya out. You will end up with a empty sack. Trigger time and time behind the glass is the only cure. And unbeknownst to some. They can do all of thee above twenty four seven, and still be trying to buy their way in. :o Take care, Willie
rcdinaz Report post Posted January 19, 2014 okay and back on topic! Someone asked about the price difference. It looks like $700-$800, from ~$1,800 up to $2,499 on most sites. Seeing the old-new model going for about $1,500 from a lot of guys now which is $200 less than the 10x42's cost new and only $300 more than the Kaibabs. That my friends is a steal! Thats what I am waiting on. I could get the new HD at cost but with very little difference in light only I thought I would wait till everyone has their old models up for sale and buy me another pair. WDENIKE: Talk about apples to oranges is like talking about swaro vs vortex. BOTH have superior warranties but clarity is bad on the vortex HD Kiababs compared to swaros. I borrowed the Kiabab HD for 2 weeks to see what all the hype is and man I had headaches every time I looked through them and when someone says they are just as good as swaros I laugh because there is no clarity on the vortex like swaro.. Don't get me wrong I like SOME Vortex SCOPES but thats only 1 or 2.
joey lvr Report post Posted January 21, 2014 I have owned my kibabs for little over a year. They are the first pair of binos that I have ever owned and for the money you can't beat them. yes the clarity isn't top notch but on a good clear day I think you couldn't tell the difference between them and the swaros. Edge to edge the swaros take the cake. Bottom line to each his own and I make due and spot game all day with my binos. I am interested to see what the 20x56 kibabs will look like. ajohunter Report post Posted January 21, 2014 We have always said buy the best you can afford. If that is Vortex, Nikon or Tasco so be it. I use Swarovski and recommend them to everyone but I don't think less of another hunter because of their equipment. As for the new 15 HD it's tempting but I'm leaning towards the 12x50 EL. willhunt4coues Report post Posted January 21, 2014 I took a buddy out for his coues hunt back in 2009 (Justin) he had a 20 dollar pair of binos but he was the one that saw the buck before I did. So yes binos are binos just depends how you use them and how lucky you are but I don't look down on anyone that has different binos. I personally can not stand the headaches. My dad has a pair of Nikon monarch 12 and can find anything I can. He does start to complain about getting a headache twards the end of the day though. Thats why I want another pair so then he can borrow them and when my boy is old enough he can have them. I didn't start using swaro till 2009 but I did have the Zeiss conquest befor then and what I don't understand is why everyone wants Vortex rather than having Zeiss both are the same price and the Zeiss are VERY CLEAR edge to edge. Anyways good luck to everyone in the upcoming draw. I put in for my first EARLY RIFLE elk tag this year only one can wish his dreams come true...
