creed Report post Posted January 14, 2014 Long shots are taken when hunting the west but a shot that far is irresponsible and reckless. I don't care who you are or how good you think you are that is just not a good shot to take on a target that is capable of moving. I have more respect for an animal I am hunting than that. elkaholic Report post Posted January 14, 2014 kinda like the guy I talked to a few yrs back - antelope hunting yep he finally stuck his loper after 26 shots -- all his shots were at 85 yrds ++ guess practice makes perfect and then he hit it in the hind quarters and had to take a finishing shot when he could actually get within 35 yrds - go figure +1000 on not smart to take a shot at those distances when its very possible the target will move I like extra butter on my popcorn

dieselroe Report post Posted January 14, 2014 Oops, I forgot about the ethical stuff. I just wanted to see the deer and congratulate the guy. Maybe we should close this thread now......lol Every man can make his own choices in this world. We have enough judges. Cam hanes would have done it......lol PS my max range is 60 in great conditions. I can't practice like Cam does. I have a family to take care of.

trphyhntr Report post Posted January 14, 2014 if i practiced at that far, and was getting decent groups, id fling it at animal no problem. seems like a lot of guys cant make an ethical shot at 30 yards, whats the difference?
