needing new boots

Recommended Posts

Looking for recommendations on pull on style western work boots. I currently own a pr of Rockys. My last pair of Rockys were great and lasted almost 4 yrs of daily wear. This pair is falling apart after 6+ months. Considering Ariat workhogs. Anyone have a good suggestion? I wear my boots daily and for just about everything.

I'm a big fan of Justin boots. I have 3 different pairs and love them all. Their work boots are pretty darn good. At least my pair. I've had them for quite awhile (no I don't wear them every day) and they've held up.

I have a pair of wolverines that I got at Sportsmans about 2 years ago that have held up really well for me. I am a home inspector so I am on roofs and crawling around attics everyday. But I am probably not as hard on mine as some construction type guys will be. You will probably get a bunch of different responses and it will come down to you going with what fits and meets your needs.

I have a pair of Justin lace up work boots that wear like iron and I keep them in my work vehicle with a pair of Smart Wool socks in them when I need to be on a jobsite. They are the American Made ones and after three years they still have very little wear on the sole. http://www.sheplers.com/Justin-Original-8-Lace-Up-Work-Boots/3583.pro?&relationType=topSell&cross-sell=true

The soles are fairly hard and after a 12-16 hour day my feet know it but for a regular workday they are fine.

I have had to replace the laces once and use the leather conditioner on them every few months. They are not steel toe and come with that silly fringe on the base of the tongue but I didn't put it on.

I've worked construction in one form or another since the 70's and for slip on boots these are the ones that most of the electricians, steelworkers and pipefitters wear.

Dan Post also make some nice boots too and I have a pair of Cowboy boots that have an oil resistant non slip sole I bought at Boot Barn about 9 years ago and have held up well. I've found the best thing is to get a couple of pairs of boots so you don't have to put on sweaty boots the next day.

/>I agree, Justin's and ariats are too tight on my toes, switched to redwings about 5 years ago and they work great.

And red wings gives you free laces. Oh yeah!!!!!
