I'm not real familiar with this area but look for areas where 3 or more drainages come together. Look for high hills with saddles and in your area look for cat claw on higher hills. And also listen for grunting and noises they make. Good luck to you!

I will be trying my luck in 20a in February on my rifle hunt. I plan to spend my time around Mayer. Have have run across them there in the past on deer hunts. It's not great bow territory though. Pretty rough and open.

Its Very dry!!! Find the water , look for tracks and even then it is very hit and miss and mostly miss in 19a and 20a . I have had some real sweet spots thru the years but quit going because of people. I believe predators are also a big reason for lack of pigs!

Have glassed pigs almost every day in 19- while looking for the right mule deer. Keep after it. This time of year I would say water is the least important thing to worry about. They have very little insulation so glass sunny side of the hill until noon and your should find pigs

Good luck

Lionhunter. Your right in a normal year . This is in the top 5 driest winters we have had and if it continues to Feb 1st will be the driest on record!

I will emphasis again keep checking the water. My Buddy and I have located 60+ pigs on and with in 1/2 mile of a good water sources this last week alone.

There's a lot of water right now. Most of the water hasn't dried up in bordering units from earlier rains. The desert is so green. I'm surprised there isn't as much dirt tanks and watering holes on 19a
