tjhunt2 Report post Posted January 11, 2014 if you're raising kids, the price of tags are out of sight. taxes, gas, food, diapers, clothes, house, cars, etc...money is definitely tight. I would think those supporting this are single, or at least aren't raising kids. if it wasn't such a financial difficulty, i wouldn't complain about it. But for me, it's becoming nearly unaffordable. Stay out of the bedroom. lol TJ
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted January 11, 2014 I've gotten one raise at work since 2007 (a dollar) find a new job? Quit hunting? Change my lifestyle habits? Maybe, I've never really been able to afford to hunt but somehow I always do! I'm not agreeing with anyone, price increase sucks!! Not hunting, or the chance to hunt sucks worse! I've saved $100 so far for the elk draw, hope I can save the rest, if not... I'll do without, I have to many bonus points not to put in!
AZLance Report post Posted January 11, 2014 guys... quit complaining... G&F is still trying to pay off the $100,000 settlement to the Game Warden who poached the elk up in unit 3 last year. And now they need some more money to get it mounted for him.I mean come on... the price of getting a poached elk mounted nowadays is out rageous. And since 2007, while hunting tag prices wer'nt going up... the price of a full body elk mount went up several times. So quit feeling sorry for yourselves and pay up... it for the good of the department. I mean without them there would be no bull elk for them to poach... http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/20130527controversies-dog-game-fish-department.html
Guest wdenike Report post Posted January 11, 2014 Some funny chit here!!!! No wonder the loser in the white house got a second term. I always thought that being successful meant doing more with less, and being dam good at what ya do. Not reaching into citizens pockets to fix their short comings. I guess I'll just have to understand, that if ya pump any frog up big enough it will float. ( This has proved to be way untrue when pertaining to government ) Oh!! and what ever happened to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. How many more things are we going to accept that are PRIVLEGES cause the man said so. Guess if ya are willing to accept all this baloney. You will also just tow the line when they ask ARE YOUR PAPPERS IN ORDER. Take care, Willie

Guest wdenike Report post Posted January 11, 2014 And while I'm on a rant. If ya think I'm crazy. Add this to their incompetence. Demanding we as sportsman turn over the bottom jaws of our harvested bobcats in order to sell the hides legally. For them to do a study. Well to this I say get of their lazy arse and perform your own study. The skull of that bobcat is just as much a trophy as horns on elk or deer. Tell me I'm wrong. No one fixes up their bear, mountain lion, or javalina skulls. How would ya like them to take one side of your horns this year????? And mark my words. Your trapping license will soon have spaces for different stamps. ( I MEAN AFTER ALL THE BASIC TRAPPERS LICENSE SHOULD ONLY BE FOR THE PRIVALEGE AS SOME CALL IT ) Please tell me when we have been bent over enough. Take care, Willie

m77 Report post Posted January 11, 2014 I would like to see the federal government take control of hunting and fishing on federal lands. That way the majority of residence in AZ would also have to pay more to hunt and fish on the FEDERAL LAND you all enjoy so much. After all, why should the state control hunting and fishing on federal land. And, why should residence enjoy special privileges over non-residence when what, 90 % of AZ is federal land. Mr. Workman, This started out just pointing out that I felt azgaf are out of control just like the rest of government agencies. And I try not to make any direct attacks on anyone directly. But in this case, if there is not a little bit of smart arse involved. I'm with you on this. Complete moron!!!!! Take care, Willie

out2hunt Report post Posted January 11, 2014 You should of had him pick up an apprentice license... Its free and good for two consecutive days for small game. Knowledge is what's missing from the original post. Had the homework been done, money would have been saved. Regardless......You have to Pay to Play, in my opinion Fish and Game is still behind the current rates of other states and should raise the rates to a similar amount. BTW I wouldn't take the time to gripe about a few bucks if I had a trip to plan. It's either in the budget or it's not right?

If you and I did something illegal in our respective careers, would we be rewarded with a 'bonus'? Suspension? Days a la playa? Or criminal proceedings followed by jail time? stanley Report post Posted January 13, 2014 Hey, they gotta pay for the new trucks and boats somehow... the new 3/4 ton duramax AZGFD truck i see on the 202 every morning on my way to work pisses me off. You're joking, right? Some things in life make me a little angry, but a new truck purchased by G&F isn't one of them. Do you get angry when you see a new police cruiser or helicopter? Maybe you expect G&F to purchase used pick-ups? (They can make a bid on my 96 GMC if they want..... ) S. ya i think they should be using the same ones they were 10 years ago Again, I'm thinking you're joking....... You know they actually drive these vehicles for work, right? The average miles driven per year on these vehicles is not necessarily what the average citizen puts on thier personal car/pick-up. Imagine the maintence and lost service necessary on a 10 year old pick-up that is driven for work (not just to work.....). So now the G&F has a fleet of old worn-out pick-ups and has to pay an army of mechanics & purchase parts to keep the old fleet in service? Not sure if you've ever run a business before, but in the long run that very well would not be more economical than keeping the fleet staffed with fresh wheels. Plus the minute some hunter is looking for help/assistance from the G&F (or any 'first responder' service) but the call is not answered because the old pick-up broke down? Not a good thing, I think. Just something to think about. S.
