derbiv Report post Posted January 9, 2014 I'm looking to get the best one in the $250 price range. Does anybody have any experience with the alpha dogg? As for a little background, I'm am virtually brand new to varmint hunting. I have learned a lot from this sight though and look forward learning more. STOMP442 Report post Posted January 9, 2014 Dont mess with the alpha dog. I had one and it only lasted long enough for me to loose the receipt so I couldnt take it back. Fox pros are top of line and work really well. I suggest you save a bit more and get the model above the one your looking at. Make one purchase instead of upgrading later on.

derbiv Report post Posted January 9, 2014 I just got the wildfire 2 its awesome!!! 199$ at Cabela's best thing i bought last year!! That's the one I saw too. A friend recommended the primos but I'm a bit skeptical. We are buying a house soon so I can't spend much over $250. Thanks
iluv2huntaz Report post Posted January 9, 2014 I agree with STOMP442 my Turbo Dogg didn't even last a year.I'm in the market for a different brand and FoxPro is at the top of the list.
Scooter Report post Posted January 9, 2014 Was watching the Primos TV show the other day when they had Randy Anderson and a buddy on. They had an Alpha Dogg out there as well as mouth calls and shot 12 coyotes on maybe 7 sets... Made it look pretty impressive

Made it look pretty impressive I am sure that was the goal. -All I can vouch for is the overall quality of the Fox Pro products. They've been leading the industry for over a decade and still manage to innovate. Their customer service is second to none and they have a huge sound library. If you do ever decide to sell a call, Foxpros tend to actually hold some of their value.
Smith2260 Report post Posted January 9, 2014 I have the alpha dogg and wish I had spent a little more on the fox pro. I have already had to send it back for internal repairs twice. Only works within 10 yards of remote. They told me I needed to put it up on a tripod so the remote had a direct line of sight. Except there is not a thread for any tripod mount. Made it look pretty impressive Randy Anderson is my coyote calling hero and the reason i went with the primos call over the fox pro. I figured if it was good enough for him then that's what I wanted. Little did I know that he probly had a truck bed full of callers because they don't last more than two stands.
Adicted Report post Posted January 9, 2014 i made the mistake and bought others and in the end i wasted money and went with Fox Pro...Sound quality is the best. some of the others just sounded crappy and the volume wasnt there....

Little did I know that he probly had a truck bed full of callers because they don't last more than two stands. That was my thinking as well- if it'sgood enough for Randy Anderson, it's a good call... I don't own either foxpro or a Primos E-caller but I can vouch for the Primos Mouth calls being an excellent and effective low-cost option for those that choose to use mouth calls. derbiv Report post Posted January 10, 2014 Thanks for all the input. Cabelas has this on sale ( pictured below). If this is just a rebranded foxpro then I'm going to pick it tomorrow. If not then I'll grab the wildfire 2.

Made it look pretty impressive Those 7 'sets' could have been over a week, a month, heck even a years time... They're selling a product, remember that. Get the Foxpro Scorpion. Used for $250 shouldn't be hard to do, I've killed a lot of critters with mine.
