Went out this weekend and the bucks were ruttin hard.

 

This doe was looking sickly.

And here's my favorite of the day. Three legs and freaky horns.

it is strange how injuries to animals always effects there antler growth.

Bow hunter that is exactly what i was thinking. And the real freak side is always on the side that has the damage.

Is it possible that he is more likely to fall on that side and damage the antlers during growth? Nice pics. Good work

cool pics, That three legged buck is a survivor, I'd like to know how mobile he is, if he has adapted to his injury?

I had a three legged dog.He could still run and jump just fine.Poor boy was born with four and then got down to three after car hit him.He could still jump the fence and go to the local bar and get peanuts from the customers.Our neihbor is the one who told us when Our family would be at work and school he would go to the bar during the middle of the day and come home before we got back.I guess he was quite a hit with the regulars.

That three legged buck was ruttin pretty hard. Don't know how well he gets the job done balancing on one leg though

I would still get the job done with only one leg, so as long as hes not passing any 3-legged genes around then he is good to go in my book.
