Think I made a mistake.....

Recommended Posts

I realize now I made a mistake, hopefully not,on passing up this deer...I waited a year to get back out and he came in at 5 yards from the base of my tree..I drew on him but just couldn't release after just getting an opportunity to be out...I think I was hoping for the bigger one in the area....Good Luck to everyone and hope your hunts are going better than mine...

It's all about the hunt, you get to go out again so that's a plus, good luck on finding the bigger one.

I feel better when I have a chance and pass than I do when I shoot one. I think to me I then take the pressure off my self because I know I could have killed.

"Never pass on the first day something you would gladly take on the last"

That served me well when I was younger, now I'm more selective and it doesn't bother me to come home with a tag in my pocket. Take advantage of something you are not going to kill to practice your stalking skills. A couple times I have moved in to range where I know they were mine if I wanted, then jump out and yell and scare the crap out of them, makes for a good laugh.

you may now be a trophy hunter- with a flash of reality

I had dreams of a monster for my dec rifle - I dropped a 60-70 class 2x3 the second day of an 18 day hunt

passed on several 3x3 basket bucks opening day - that would have scored better

I'm pleased with my buck and actually I'm getting it mounted - even though I have bigger racks hanging on the wall - go figure!

go out with a smile and next time pull the trigger
