Sam Report post Posted January 7, 2014 Thinking back, I always thought I have done pretty well, but not compared to most others on this thread. Started hunting 30 years ago......... Mule deer - 5 Coues - 3 Elk - 5 Javelina - 1 - only have had a few tags, don't hunt them often Turkey - 0 - left a few running away from some pellets Antelope - 20 points
singleshot Report post Posted January 7, 2014 I used to replay them all in my daydreams.... best I can truly remember Archery - 8 coues, 3 mule deer, 4 bulls, whole bunch of pigs Rifle - 20 plus coues, 4 mule deer, 1 mountain lion, 1 bear ( never really wanted to kill another one with a rifle), bunch of turkeys. Shot a smattering of coyotes, foxes and a few bobcats in the 80's when fur was high. Took 4 coyotes with a bow that I actually recovered, killing coyotes with a bow is tough, pretty proud of them. Have drawn 4 archery bull tags in 24 years, 21 points for antelope, same for sheep.

Seldom Drawn Report post Posted January 7, 2014 Just wondering with so many hunters on this site how many Big game animals have you harvested in Az. Seldom Drawn Seldom how many animals have you harvested in Arizona? Somewhere around 50 off the top of my head, I took a break at one time quit killing for 7-8 years then caught the bug again when my son was old enough to hunt I haven't killed more then 7-8 animals in the last 12 years I have passed close to 200-250 animals up with my bow in that time I am just burned out of hunting for myself, i was on 11 hunts last year 2 of which I had tags for, it's time to put the bow down and help others. I have to say this turned out to be a really cool post, you guys are some awesome hunters. Seldom Drawn
Heat Report post Posted January 7, 2014 Rifle: 1 Mule Deer Buck, 1 Cow Elk, 1 Pronghorn Buck, 1 Desert Bighorn Sheep Ram Bow: 1 Bull Elk, 1 Mule Deer Buck, 0 javelina (yes, I'm terrible at hunting javelina) Shotgun: 2 Turkey Toms I've been hunting with a bow and rifle for 25 years. I took a lot of time away from hunting during my college years when I couldn't afford tags. I almost exclusively hunt with a bow now, unless it's a once in a lifetime opportunity or I'm hunting with my family for meat. I won't hunt javelina, deer, pronghorn, or bull elk with a rifle anymore. Never hunted javelina with anything but my bow. I have drawn blood 3 times on javelina and have not tagged one. It is my nemesis! Talk about a love/hate relationship!
Coues assassin Report post Posted January 7, 2014 I simply don't remember them all, but here are my estimates. This covers my hunting in Arizona since age 12 in 1948, so it's really not that many for 65 years: Coues deer -- 15 to 18 Mule deer -- 20 to 23 Pronghorn -- 5 Bull elk -- 6 Cow elk -- 3 Turkey 8 to 10 Bear -- 1 Javelina with rifle, handgun, muzzleloader and bow -- 53 Bison -- 1 Mountain lion - 1 Desert bighorn -- 1 I can't say how many coyotes, bobcats, foxes and coatimundis I killed back when I still enjoyed varmint calling, maybe 30 to 40. Bill Quimby 53 bison that's awesome
