Couestracker Report post Posted January 5, 2014 After skinning, with fur side out, roll it up tight and freeze until ready to flesh and dry. If you're looking for how to skin, a couple of opportunities are coming up this month. Cabela's is having predator hunting seminars Jan 11th and 12th with Phoenix Varmint Callers Inc. club (PVCI) providing the people and expertise. There will be a skinning demo Saturday. The events are from 10:00 to 1:00 both days. Details and event schedules are at this link: www.cabelas.com/stores/store_info.jsp?pageName=015 Go to VIEW ALL EVENTS at bottom, then EVENTS for Jan 11th and 12th, then DETAILS. Another opportunity is PVCI is participating in the Annual Multi-Club Hunt, which is our Club vs all other Varmint Calling Clubs in the State. Besides a chance to hunt predators (you could help us) there is a skinning contest after the dinner, which is provided. The date is Saturday Jan 25. For details, check our web site at www.pvci.org, or pm me. Also, PVCI should be having our fur prep day, where we get together and flesh/stretch/dry hides in preparation for sale or tanning.
