SNEEKEE1 Report post Posted January 6, 2014 ***Licenses are now valid for one year rather than just for the calendar year. If you buy your license from a dealer or through the online draw process (when it becomes available), your start date (the date your license becomes valid) will be your date of purchase. If you buy your license through the paper draw application process, your start date will be the published deadline date for that draw. If you buy your license separately at www.azgfd.gov/eservices/licenses.shtml or from a Game and Fish office, you can name your own start date up to 60 days beyond the date you purchase it, and it will be valid for one year from that date. Please note that if you are planning to apply for the 2014 elk/pronghorn draw, make sure you choose a start date that is no later than the draw deadline day (Feb. 11, 2014), as you must have a valid license as of that date to be eligible for the draw. Wait what licenses are now good a year from date of purchase not the calendar year?
nighthawk Report post Posted January 6, 2014 So they raised the price of the tags, then went cheap on making them.... I figured with more money they could keep it the same has it has been for years......

jim Report post Posted January 6, 2014 I think everyone should protest by not putting in for elk. Especially in the units I'm putting in for. I think I can afford a plastic bag so I dont think I will protest.
ThomC Report post Posted January 7, 2014 Yes protest by not buying anything, better yet move back east and complain about the snow.

I would like to know how many guys that put stupid comments like this on here are actually archers currently hunting this season? And if you have been affected in any way or if you're just making stupid comments? Thanks
HuntHarder Report post Posted January 7, 2014 How long is the complaining about a different tag going to last? Adapt!!!!! It is not the end of the world. Go out and hunt! Notching the date of kill is a great idea and I am glad they did it. It is about time they catch up to other states. As far as the paper, Who gives a crap? When you go hunting, just like you make sure you have arse- wipe, make sure you have a zip lock bag and a tie. It is not rocket science....
AZLance Report post Posted January 7, 2014 If you put your tag in a ziplock bag and use a zip tie, you are in violation of R12-4-302(i)... Read it for yourself... http://www.azsos.gov/public_services/title_12/12-04.htm#ARTICLE_3

Read it for yourself... http://www.azsos.gov/public_services/title_12/12-04.htm#ARTICLE_3 My 2014 Mt Lion, Spring Turkey and Javelina tags are peel and stick so I'll be attaching them per the instructions in R12 and should I get drawn for Deer or Elk and get a paper tag I'll just follow the instructions on it. Pretty simple.
jim Report post Posted January 7, 2014 hoghntr I have hunted this state my entire life as for smart comments I dont know what the game and fish have done to you and azlance but some of us think that there are alot more things in life to worry about than what a tag is made out of. I could care less and just don't understand how it could have any effect on how I'm hunting or other life functions by what my tag is made out of. Obvisiouly you guys have some major deep issues with the game and fish and nothing anyone else says will have any effect. I wish that this issue was the worst thing that I could worry about in my life and I am really happy for you that the rest of your life is so peachy that this has to be the worst thing you are facing. Just go hunt something paper or not. As for being effected no I am not effected by this as I pre planeed and took care of my business ahead of time not wait to the last minute and have a crisis moment.

And if you have been affected in any way or if you're just making stupid comments? Thanks Here's another stupid comment for you. I'm a archer currently hunting this season and have not been affected in any way, but then again I didn't wait till last minute or go to Whalemart to acquire a tag either. If you must know my secret on how I did it, here it is. I simply hopped in my jalopy (about a month or so ago), drove my A$$ to the Mesa G&F office, walked right up to the counter, got the tags I needed, paid the bill and walked out 5 minutes later. I then drove my A$$ back home with the same sticky tags I've had for the 17 years I've been hunting. Pretty easy if you ask me!
joeeden Report post Posted January 7, 2014 Come on man. You're complaining about "smart" comments but asking how the new tags are affecting everyone? I'd kill to have your problems. They can make my tag out of recycled newspapers if they want to.
