Bad experience with Outdoorsmans

Well I got off work early and decided to finally check out outdoorsmans and pickup a fancy tripod adapter and tripod head. I checked google and their website to find out they close at six. Great. Leave work at 3:30 and call to double check they're open. Yes open, great.

 

I drive 30 minutes and get there at 4. I can't find an open door or anything, then some guy walks up and says were closed, sorry. Closed early today and we don't update the website with holiday hours.

 

Thanks for wasting an hour of my time outdoorsmans. Looks like I'll get a uni dapter and bogen head. They're not getting my business.

Just playing devil's advocate here, I would say you dropped the ball and should have called to get holiday hours. I would assume a lot of businesses don't carry normal business hours today. Also, it's safe to assume they will be closed tomorrow even if the website doesn't state that.

I have had nothing BUT great experiences with outdoorsmans and their products.. I recommend giving them another shot on a regular work day.. You'll find out you did not "waste" your time... Plus your supporting local business!

Ya I've heard nothing but great things about them. I guess I just expected them to mention they were closing early when I called at 3:30 to see if they were open today. As a small business owner myself, I would at least mention it if someone calls 30 minutes before I plan on closing. Just disappointed I guess.

I can understand your frustration, I'd be a bit miffed myself after calling and driving. Im certainly not creating excuses for them, but maybe it was one if those days where business was dead or slow and they decided to call it a day.

Every time I have visited them it was well worth my trip and enjoyable to chat about hunting or gear and they have gone above and beyond in customer service.

Id hope you would give them a second chance to earn your business.

Ya bud that sucks,but after all it is the holidays people are trying to get home to there families Etc. Give them another chance besides if you are specifically looking for a tripod head and adaptor.You won't be disappointed and probably regret going with the other above mentioned. Just my .02 good luck and Happy New year ............

Hey you guys open today????? Yes....Cool on on my way from xxxx be there in an hour.. You have some tripod heads I can look at??? Yes we do..Sweet.. Not sure of the phone conversation but it could have helped...jus saying..

 

In my opinion you can't beat the outdoorsman for their products. They also stand behind them.. Worth another try...

Well he called and said he was on his way so if whoever answered the phone should have said they were closing early. Pretty simple. We're talking a Mom & Pop shop so when he showed up and they said they were closed how much effort would it have been to open up for him? Shame on them. They'll never get my business.

Great company, definitely worth going back and checking them out. They stand against their product they sell. I had bought a Wilson's antenna and returned it well beyond their guarantee because of their great customer service. Guy on the phone did make a mistake and did not let you know they where closing early, human mistake and probably simply forgot to mention.
