Scouting does PAY....

Recommended Posts

Travis, that is truly amazing. I love it when those that put in the time and effort like you obviously have, get to taste the fruits of their labor. That is a magnificent buck and you earned him!! It appears you have found one of the secrets to killing big Coues deer. Don't forget what you did to achieve this and stick with it. Great job and an outstanding buck!!! We're all thankful you included us in your celebration!

Was this a San Carlos buck? I talked to a buddy of mine that guides up there and he was saying a guy killed a monster in unit C. That thing is unbelievable. Congrats again on a magnificent buck.

Thanks for celebrating him with me! It is hard to believe I was so lucky. I am going to SCI tomorrow to have him scored. I have to wait until Jan 19 to B&C score him. It really doesn't matter except I believe that if you are blessed with such an animal you should honor him to the fullest. If he should make the "books" he will be entered. If not he is entered into our "book". A great COUES WHITETAIL.

Good luck to all of you who have the great fortune to have the Dec hunts! May your inches be many....!

Travis,

In looking at your buck and Larry Johnson's B&C#2 143" record buck, they appear to be relatives, although Johnson's is listed from Navajo County (and from the WMAT rez (IIRC)).
