Do you wear gloves when cleaning game?

I saw the post on cleaning gloves and it got me to thinking, how many of you all wear gloves when cleaning game?

 

 

I don't think I've ever worn any gloves, but I know my pops always wears cut resistant gloves and rubber gloves. Thoughts?

I never have before but I did on the last hunt I helped out with. I will never do it without gloves again.

i wear rubber gloves i throw in 5-6 pairs and pack them out when i am done

Make cleaning up WAY easier.........especially in the backcountry when water is limited.

I forgot to pack them for my deer this year and barehanded it. I did wear cut resistant gloves during the butchering process when I got the meat all cleaned up and cut. I usually ALWAYS have them with me but yeah- the one time I forget them I shoot a deer...

I used a pair of shoulder length "game cleaning gloves" this year for my Dad's buck. It was like wearing trash bags. Made the process more dangerous than it had to be. From now on I'll stick to using plain latex gloves which I've always used in the past.

Using latex gloves while cleaning just makes for an easier clean up when it's all over with. I use them whenever I can remember to throw some in my pack.

I have a small stuff sack that is set up for game prep only and always has everything needed in it including gloves.

Blue surgical gloves are always in my hunting pack, they are awesome.

+1 on the blue surgical gloves. I rip through about 3-4 pairs when butchering/field dressing a bear or an elk. They are also great when working on the Jeep or other car repairs under the hood!

It wouldn't be the same wearing gloves when field dressing.... just like it wouldn't be gutting if I didn't nick my fingers a time or two and get my own blood on the meat....

 

J/K. Wearing tight fitting latex gloves is nice. I wouldn't wear anything loose at all. Makes it more dangerous.

Never have, probably never will. I have no issue with a lil blood on my hands.

I just use the gutless method...not much need for gloves.

Everything washes off with a little soap and water...
