fisher_hunt Report post Posted December 29, 2013 Anybody use the Vortex Razors? How do they compare with other top end binos such as Swarovski's? I'm in the market for a high end 10x42 bino.
PRDATR Report post Posted December 29, 2013 Whats you price range? I don't consider Vortex to be High End but they are very good and comparable to Kahles, Kowa and Meopta, Minox and Steiner. If you want "High End" you should be looking at Leica, Zeiss or Swarovski unless Schmidt & Bender ever decides to come out with Binos.
112coues Report post Posted December 29, 2013 I have a pair of the razor hd 10's and they are awesome! my brother has a pair of leica ultravid's and we put them side by side, they are very close in optical quality. they only difference we could see was the leica's had 100% sweet spot in the field of view and vortex was about 98%. low light condition was almost no difference. The weight of vortex were much lighter than leica, and of course price and warranty go to vortex. in my opinion for the $1000 more for leica isn't worth it. go with the razor Hd's I promise you wont be disappointed. PCHunter Report post Posted December 29, 2013 I have a pair of razors I keep at the cabin and a pair of Swarovski's. There is no comparison between the two.
joeinaz0 Report post Posted December 29, 2013 Check out Jay Scott Outdoors. They did a gear review on the Vortex Razor. Pretty good stuff.
