tpierce Report post Posted December 27, 2013 Hunting with my son and Dad during Thanksgiving was the best. My 13 year old son drew a bull tag in unit 27 late rifle and made a great shot at 389 yards and dropped him in his tracks. we had scouted on turkey day and found lots of bulls, and he knew where he wanted to hunt, so off we go opening morning and the bulls where there. and the rest is history. He looked a little disappointed when we got to the bull and I asked him if he was unhappy with the elk, and he said no he was thrilled! So again I ask the question. His reason for being sad was he didn't want to go home. he loves to be in the woods and hunt or just drive around and glass for animals. So we stayed up in the unit until Monday. I had the best hunt ever and all because I was able to be there with my Father and Son.

Devil Diver Down Report post Posted December 28, 2013 That's just a great job by all 3 generations - congrats to your son for making a great shot and his attitude of wanting to stay in the woods beyond the hunt; to you for getting him going at such a young age and on bulls, which probably helps that attitude a bunch; and your dad looks like he's pretty fit to be chasing high country elk in November/December. Well done!
