Fulch Report post Posted December 23, 2013 Looking for suggestions on how to get my processed elk back from AZ. I few with the steaks and roast using dry ice as I have in the past, just checked it as baggage in a cooler. I've also shipped elk from Montana but it cost me an arm and a leg, could have flow back and checked it for half the cost of overnight shipping. My buddy has it in his freezer now so it's fine and back and picked up from the processor but I would much rather be enjoying it than writing about it. az_shooter Report post Posted December 23, 2013 Whether you ship it, make a flight and pick it up yourself, or drive down and get it, your still gonna spend a bunch of money. So why spend money when you can make money? Here's what you do, have your friend sell a bunch of the meat and with the profits you can pay to ship the little bit of good meat you want, back straps, some steaks, maybe a little burger. Depending on what airport and airline companies are there your friend can drop off a cooler at the freight shipping office, and you can pick it up at the freight shipping office. It will be an overnight flight but usually a 1/3 of FedEx, UPS, DHL and any other company. Your the man, spot on with the suggestion. The last time I used FedEx it was around $300.00+ for overnight. I did a quick search while at work via SW Airline and looks to be around $80.00.
