Best Tripod Adapter Option for Swaro 15s

Recommended Posts

I finally decided it was time to get some Swarovski 15x56 binoculars after being frustrated with the edge clarity of my Kaibabs all year long. When I first got the Kaibabs I thought they were awesome and I loved them. After spending more time this year hunting and glassing than any year before, I realized they weren't as great as I originally thought. The edge clarity was not very good at longer distances and I found myself having to pan more often due to the smaller usable FOV.

With that being said, I decided it was time to go big, so I did. I got a good deal on a new set, but they didn't come with a tripod adapter. I'm hoping someone can weigh in on what my options are and what the best choice may be for an adapter. I know there is Swarovski one that runs about $140, or the outdoorsman tripod adapter that runs about $110 with the stud. Are those the only options? Would the Vortex uni-dapter work?

I prefer the Outdoorsman over the Swaro

The swaro adapter has been frustrating me. Thinking about upgrading to the outdoorsman. Do the 15s need any modification? Thought I read somewhere a stud needs to be installed.

The stud needs to be installed on swaros EL series.. The slc's you can do your self. Swaro 15's with the Outdoorsmans adaptor is the only way to go! I havent had any troubles with mine

I think the outdorrsman is way better than swaro, i like how it locks on yo the stud so if j pick my tripod up and carry it i dont worry about them falling off, the swaro one is a lever that locks down if that get hit while walking there goes the binos plus the outdoorsman is lighter and smaller

The outdoorsman is the way to go. The stud goes into your binos with a lil blue loctite and then stud slips and locks into the post, then you can screw the locking mechanism down so it is secured and not going anywhere. Hiking or moving around no binos falling on the ground. Additionally, you can quick swap out other binos if you have the stud on your other binos ( as long as they can take one of the studs- outdoorsmans makes a variety) you were glassing w 10x42 and wanted to switch to 15's it takes less than 30 seconds and you dont have to fiddle with plates or unscrew anything, just loosen the post and pop out the 10's and the 15's go right in.
