Depends on what you are looking for you trophy hunting ? Looking for deer numbers or looking for overall nice buck units

When this question is asked, the answers are placed in several categories for me, I'm mainly an archery hunter though, fyi.

A. The biggest bucks in the world come from_____(hard to draw, no over the counter hunts, far away, usually considered 13a and 13b)

B. The highest deer populations and good bucks with the chance of seeing a whopper are found in _____(Pretty tough to draw, no over-the counter archery tags, usually far away, tons of fun because tons of deer, usually considered to be 12a, 12b, and the 3s)

C. And then, to me, the rest of the state falls under units that have mature bucks to be found if you scout or spend good amounts of time in the unit, and these areas can be hunted over the counter archery some of the year. Draw odds are higher, success is lower, access is easy, or at least they are easy to get to. If you pick one of these "Class C" units and stick to it and learn the area, over a few years, it will quickly become your best mule deer unit because you know it so well, its can be a short drive to get there, and you compile so many stories and good times.

+++++1 sneaker. Very well put. There are definitely sleeper units in the state that have huge deer but low overall numbers that you can draw at least every other but will require at least 3 years of scouting and homework. I have a few of those in my back pocket.

There are definitely some c+'s and some b-'s in there, but I wholeheartedly agree with your classification.
