What's Scarier?

Recommended Posts

potbundles-1.jpg

Here is what I found in 36A last time I was down there. 5 guys came walking up to where we were parked just after dark, carrying 5 large bundles on their backs. We shone our flashlight on them and they dropped the bundles and ran. Border Patrol came in and picked up the 300+ pounds of pot and thanked us!

So when President Bush says. "these are just good people who want to come here and work", Dont believe it!!!

Those were my mules carrying my pot and now that I have your license plate number (and know what you drive) I am going to track you down and make you pay!! I was having a little get together that night and you had to go and ruin it!! You better stay out of 36 A from now on! AG

PS. -- And quit making fun of my JEFE, GW BUSH!!!

I might be wrong but I think alot of this was going on before Buch was in office so maybe you should back up a little bit and blame it on Mrs. Gun control Clinton and her Husband!!!

What's scarier? No contest. Illegals. As has been said, you can ( with a tag ) legally shoot a lion and actually would hope to do so. Illegals are humans and I would never want to shoot someone no matter what, and the thought that you stand a chance of having to do that is scary in itself! I'm not worried about the guys who are coming over to better their lives, the ones that we've run into are always nice or avoid you. But just being down there elevates the possibility of you runnin' into illegals that aren't so nice and shy! We have never had anything stolen, I have never seen an illegal with a gun or even one that I thought was smuggling drugs, but I know they are there and that is scarier than the thought of runnin' into a lion, by far! I won't back down and let them alter MY lifestyle or change what I do every year in MY country, so I will continue to hunt down south, just gotta be on your toes. I carry my Glock on ANY hunt or scouting trip I do down there, and hope to never need it.......unless a kitty tries to bite me........I only wish  :D

I have been very close to 2 lions and while they scared the crap out of me at the time, I don't concern myself nearly as much with them as I do the illegals.

Illegals is scarier IMO hands down. With lions its scary but exciting, you can shoot them if you have a tag and they get to close. But with illegals, it's an ucomfortable feeling, especially when you've spotted illegals EVERY day during a hunt, it makes you feel uneasy and there's nothing you can do but report it. Not only that they are coming across so easily, but where the illegals are, the drug smugglers or coyotes are there too! Once, my uncle even spotted drug smugglers in the a canyon we hunt often with 100+ lb packs on their backs, all hiking in a line, and the men in the front and rear of the line had automatic weapons! Now that's scary, can you say its time to lie down and hide!

Not my truck guys!!! Agents from customs and BP came in and loaded up the dope... I wasn't born in the dark...

azhunterswhocare, you could have kept that pot - built a little hogon or kiva or teepee, and kept a fire burning on nothing but bud for a week!

Of course the guys who dropped the pot were probably still hiding the next hill over waiting for you to leave it and would have had you run down and shot if you hadn't given it over to the BP, but just imagine....

Its a little fantasy I've had ever since I watched 'Romancing the Stone' as a kid - you know the scene where Michael Douglass and Kathleen Turner have a little 'camp fire' inside the fuselage of an old DC3 crashed out in the rainforest.

My other fantasy is to find a crashed cessna full of drug money like that guy did a few years ago in the Rincons....

The fact that we have troops deployed in foriegn countries while we can't protect our own border is outrageous to me!

The thing that scares me most down there is having my camp or my truck raided or stolen while I'm out hiking around. I am always armed while I'm down there and that gives me some sense of comfort for my personal safety, but when I leave my camp or truck alone it is a feeling of helplessness that I can do nothing to protect it.

Neo - I never heard about that in the Rincons, that would be cool

Illegals or lions dont scare me at all. I'm afrain of the so called "hunters" %^&$%## that look at you through their rifle scopes. Believe me, when there is a "hunter" that gets in kneeling position and then aim his rifle at you........is not a good feeling.
