105Coues Report post Posted November 16, 2006 The G&F plans to implement the new COPPER Sticker program to extort more money from the working man. Everyone with an OHV will have to purchase one every year just to ride on public lands. Just think about the families with kids who like to ride and what they will have to pay. I am sure the cost will be low at first until they have it established and then they too will go up dramatically. Did I mention that right now they are looking for your input so I encourage you to voice your opinions whether you agree with it or not. The info is on the G&F Website. I thought I might get blackballed from drawing future tags but I never draw crap anyhow so I sent them my 2 cents.
az4life Report post Posted November 16, 2006 Heck, I think it is a good idea. I bet the money will go to habitat restoration or improvement or some other needed cause. Well maybe after they add staff to handle the increased paperwork and burrocracy. Give them the sticker program and it will be another piece of your freedom we will never get back. drgonzales Report post Posted November 16, 2006 crybabies, you think everything should be free?
DesertBull Report post Posted November 16, 2006 Yes, Mulehumper, I think riding my quad on PUBLIC roads and trails should be free. I already paid a fee to register it, it is licensed and I paid taxes when I bought it. When I see the Jeeps and F150's with the stupid sticker, I'll put one on my Polaris. drgonzales Report post Posted November 16, 2006 Go ahead and ride your little machines you crybabies. The rest of us men will saddle up or put on a backpack and do it right. Cityslickers and their gadgets.

DesertBull Report post Posted November 16, 2006 You gonna put a Copper sticker on that Horse?
drgonzales Report post Posted November 16, 2006 The horses do not tear up the land like those OHV's do. Deer hunting this year I saw about 150 of those things on the roads. But none on the goat path. Those OHV's leave quite a mark on mother nature.
Dan H Report post Posted November 16, 2006 Got to admit LOL "Mule Humper" that was a good one!!! Hey, If you can afford it why not! Every cowboy, or ranch hand I know or ever seen in Az has quads to. They just don't legalize them cause their not in Maricopa county. Or can't afford to, or simply just don't believe they should have to. Like the city slickers cryed. What seems to be the problem down there in Safford? RODNEY KING
drgonzales Report post Posted November 16, 2006 No problem here I have a quad too. Just prefer to use the mules to get to the real back country. Hunt all day and see nobody else and don't hear any motors. Yeah! Mulehumper was pretty good huh!! If I have to pay a lot of fees to keep using it I'll just get rid of it. Dan H Report post Posted November 16, 2006 I got an emissions test requirement this year for my quad that I couldn't believe it. And it's been in Tonto Basin for 5 years. I am going to register it up there I just bought a half acre there Tuesday. And am moving there in 1-2 years permenantly. I hope to get a mule once settled in if were allowed to, for pack trips into reavis ranch area I'm tired of walking in there with full loads each year. With a mule I can haul steaks/beer. CouesUnlimited Report post Posted November 16, 2006 I don't agree with the fees to drive quads. I just walk and it seems to pay off!

muleybull Report post Posted November 16, 2006 As much trash as a lot of people talk about "do it the man way, pack in........hike in..........crawl in.......roar!". I sure dont see a lot of people left in the woods late in the hunt. I dont see a lot of people while Im walking or glassing. So it seems lots of you are full of schit. If your offended by the above comment................I guess you have an idea who I'm talking to. As far as quad use, I use them to get around...............I even used them to pack something out. Those big low pressure rubber tires tore the country side up so bad, I dont think it'll ever be the same. It usually tears the countryside up so bad that oftentimes I cant even find my own tracks on the third or fourth return trip to the animal. Hop on your horse, haul food and water for him. I'll honk at you as I pass you for the 20th time during a pack out contest. Game and fish will always find another way to get your not very hard earned money. Peace.
