ruffcountry Report post Posted December 9, 2013 on a stainless rifle with black synthetic stock , which do you think looks better , silver scope or matte black scope ?
azgutpile Report post Posted December 9, 2013 Matte... I've yet to see a silver that looks good on a brushed or blasted stainless finish, plus you will have a larger variety of scopes to choose from.

rossislider Report post Posted December 9, 2013 It's pretty tough to find a silver scope of the same shade as you barrel, I've tried. I'd suggest going with black.
ruffcountry Report post Posted December 9, 2013 thanks for replies , matte is what i was thinking . I'm helping a friend set up a rifle for his son for christmas . the rifle is a browning abolt stainless in 7mm rem mag with 26 in barrel . he will use it for deer and elk . right now I'm leaning toward topping it with vx-1 4x12 because of the generous eye relief . IA Born Report post Posted December 9, 2013 Definitely matte black. I have a stainless 700 with a black synthetic stock. I put silver rings/bases with the black scope and it looks awesome!
