Kenetrek Boots Whats youre opinion...

anybody have experience with kenetrek boots in arizona? im looking at the desert guide boot or whatever it may be called, i currently wear an love danner pronghorns, any output would be awesome.

I love mine, but my hunting buddies hate following me. They keep muttering something about me being half billy goat or something, lol. They are very comfortable, like putting your foot into a marshmallow. I had the Danner Frontiers but the Kenetreks just seem more supportive with better traction. Make sure your feet like them and don't tell your wife how much they cost!

I have been thinking along the same lines. They are pricey, but like most things, the good stuff is usually the most spendy.

I bought a pair size 11 and I really like them . I felt my feet were snug with heavier socks so I bought size 11.5. ( i got them for cost didnt pay retail) after a few weeks I was getting some heel slip...realized they were a bit big and went back to my 11. To me they were not as comfortable out of the box as danners but held up 10x better. For a heavy pack or long days in tough country im very impressed..

Got my first pair of Kenetreks this season. After going through Danners every other year I decided to bite the bullet. I'm bought the Hardscabbles and really like them. I only have about 50 miles on them so far but the seem great. If I remember right the Desert Guides are not waterproof which is why I went with the Hardscrabble which is also non-insulated.

The Mountain Extremes that I purchased last year are the best boots I've worn. They have already outlasted my last two pairs of Danners.

thanks! yeah i like the desert guides but want a tall boot, nothing ankle high only.

Stiff is an understatement... But now that they're broken in, they are the most comfortable shoe I own.

Look into "Crispi" boots. $ but worth every penny!

I bought the Mountain extreme uninsulated this year. They feel like waring a Ski boot right out of the box. It took mine about 50 miles to break in but now I will never own another hunting boot.

Buy size correct. Everyone I know who bought bigger to accommodate large sox has developed blisters. I have never had a blister with mine.

I have two pairs, one almost worn out. Great boot for rocky, cactus areas and when you need your feet and ankles protected. They make long hikes in the desert so much easier on my feet than Danners, Rocky or any other boots I owned. I used to replace my boots evey year.... Now get 3-4 years.

 

However in bow season or when stalking they are stiff and hard to be quite, the same qualities that make them great hamper them) I prefer another book when archery elk hunting to keep the noise down.. (Like Under Armour....speed boot).
