mesajeeper Report post Posted December 2, 2013 I purchased the Diamond Infinite Edge for my 14 year-old as his first bow. He is a Lefty so our choices were somewhat limited, although I was pretty impressed with the bow. It was a package deal. I am not real crazy about the included Apex 3 pin sight. I am looking to upgrade the sight and am looking for recommendations. This is a Christmas present, so I won't have his input (which I know some will give me grief over, but he will be happy with whatever I choose). Any 5 pin recommendations that are also budget friendly? Thanks in advance for any input you can provide.
JLW Report post Posted December 2, 2013 tru glo is about the best budget friendly... unless he's a crack shot... I would wait to get him a 5 pin just yet...... make him earn it at the range. just my opinion.... you can set it up with a 3 pin 20 30 40 or 10 20 30. then move the box and go 30 40 50. Ouch - I checked out the Spot Hogg. I wouldn't call that "budget friendly":) The Tru Glo sights are more what I am looking for. I see several that have a light on them. Is this a good feature? The TRUGLO Brite-Site Xtreme 5 Pin Sight With Light caught my eye as being very economical. The sight looks good, but I am leary because it is sooo cheap. Is there a Tru Glo model that you would recommend over the others? Thanks, Curt http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H4RP5W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

That is very generous of you but I can't take you up on it. I will take a second look at the Spot Hoggs and talk with my better half and see if we can make something work. I will also go to a local archery shop and check them out. I like to support the local guys if I can. James, thanks for the recommendation. I will more than likely go the Truglo route. They appear to be a pretty decent sight for the money. $50 seems more in line with what I was expecting to pay. I am feeding my sons addiction. He has killed two decent bucks and two elk in his young hunting career, We also fish a lot and he has me beet with his personal best 33 pound catfish. I am so excited for Christmas morning. He will be excited and I expect we will be archery hunting together come august.
carpcody Report post Posted December 3, 2013 +1 on the Spot Hogg I really like mine. I completely understand the budget thing and I'm sure your son is going to be pumped with any one you get. Maybe he can do some extra chores for the Spot Hogg....with that being said my buddy shoots a 5 pin TRUGLO and he likes it.
