I scored. Pretty nice buck. I'll try and get some pics up pretty soon. He was buried in the catclaw and manzanita. Jumped him from about 20 yards away.

Well...it was tough to say the least. I saw 4 deer in 2 full days of glassing. I think it was the same doe and fawn both days since I saw them the 2nd morning about 500 yds from where I saw them the 1st day. I did see about what seemed like 400 people. We had hunters walk down the bottom of the canyon the first morning, I don't have any hard feelings, but it left a pit in my stomach. There was one spot where I could count 5 camps from one spot. This weekend will be a new area (actually an old area) that isn't as accessible. Lots of pressure + warm temps + wind on Saturday = a tough hunt.

I thought this was supposed to be an El Nino year, where's the rain!!! At least that will cool things off.

Hunted down in the 36's in Oct. There were hunters everywhere! Hunters walking the ridges, walking the fingers, walking the bottoms. And if any of them were sitting, they were not glassing. Thats right, no one was glassing! So we sat and glassed up bucks every day right under their noses! Our camp took five bucks- two were spikes for young hunters and there first Coues. One was a 82" 3pt, one a 95" 3pt and one a 103" 3pt. Sure glad no one else was glassing! ;)
