Recommended Posts

...the hard way! Never shoot somebody else's bow that is waaaay too long for you... I got 65lb of Hoyt string raked across my forearm at a high rate of speed lol!

The good news is I was still able to sight in the 20yd pin on the old Barnett bow I posted about a month or two ago. New string, peep sight, bought a fletcher and some 3" vanes, field points, Muzzy BHs, and she's good to go! Just gotta sight the rest of the pins in now. Not bad for an archery n00b eh? :D

Ouch. I had quite a few of those when I started off with a too big men's hand me down bow. Sure helps to have a bow that fits you :)

although every once in awhile I still get a small one as a reminder that my form is off.

I don't think it had anything to do with draw length, just bad form.

Most people never have been taught how to shoot a bow.Looks like you

just locked your arm out.

First time I shot my bow I had the same thing happen. Like seldom said I was never taught how to shoot a bow before that.

Has nothing to do with draw length, have you ever had a lesson? most people just go and buy new technology and can shoot

good in a hour but they have never been taught, how to shoot or anything about form.

I am left handed with a 31 3/4" draw I bet I can shoot your right handed bow whatever draw length all day long,

and i will shoot it right handed and never it my forearem.

Most people go to Archery headquarters, or bass pro, cabelas and they don't really know how to teach the art of bow hunting with the new bows

they don't really have to, when they can get people to hit the target in 20 minutes I think its all about the salecan you blame them most of them have never been taught how to shoot a bow.

It had everything to do with draw length. It is only common sense that if your arm is not long enough, then it will have to be as straight as possible to shoot a bow that is too long of a draw length.
