FB67 Report post Posted November 19, 2013 I have wanted a 300 Win for some time so I bought and old M77 a while back. A close friend of mine who happens to be a very good smith said he would put a break on it for me. Well he got a lttle caried away and this is what he gave me back. I am in awe on how good it loooks and shoots damm good also. This is stock barrel and stock stock he just did his magic on both. Wish I would of taken some before photos. Lower left target was after I found the right load, 185 Berger being pushed by 72 Grains of H4381SC

FB67 Report post Posted November 19, 2013 Who makes the brake. Ted Yost is the smith who did the work. He is one of the best 1911 smiths out there, but back in his younger days he was a very good long range target shooter. His experience gave him the idea for a brake that works well and does not stress the barrel. When fired It is like a long push and really takes any snap out of the recoil. It is about the same or less then my .
