4Falls Report post Posted November 20, 2013 To ensure your trailer is left alone by the Forest Nazis festoon it liberally (pun intended) with Obama/Biden decals, PETA bumper stickers and a cleverly placed "legalize it" window sticker. Then leave an stinky pair of Birkenstocks next to the door and maybe add a Che Guerva t-shirt just for color. The minions of the forest service will recognize you as one of their own and pass you by. I noticed the other morning that FS had some heavy equipment in the woods that had been there past the 72 hour cinderella deadline. I had keys to fit ALL of the equipment and would have loved to have moved it all down the road and out of site then left them a note telling them it had been abandoned and towed. But I chickened out. dang wouldn't it have been great to see their faces.
mattys281 Report post Posted November 21, 2013 As somebody who spends many days each year carrying my camp on my back I believe very strongly in the 'leave no trace' practice. While I certainly dont think that towing someone's base camp away because they've packed into the wilderness for a few days is a real good idea I do consider it to be very rude for people to leave their crap all over the forest for weeks at a time. I'm a hiker in the forest much more often than a hunter and I don't think the tag in a persons pocket gains them any special priviledge or right to the land beyond what a dayhiker a backpacker or even a guy walking his dog is entitled to. I see camps in unit 27 every summer that are set up in july and still there in sept. I always assumed they must be elk outfitters because it seems like its the same trailer and truck every year, but i could be mistaken. At any rate, inconsiderate people like this that go way beyond the 14 day limit are the ones I think this is aimed at. Another example of a careless selfish few ruining it for everyone. 4Falls Report post Posted November 21, 2013 So does FS really have the personnel to keep track of all trailers and how long they've been there? Of course not. So their next move will be to ban overnight camping except for in designated areas. They want to make it more and more difficult so well stay off of THEIR forests. When they start seizing peoples property the law suits will follow.

The real solution would simply be enforce the 14 day rule already in place! Not continue to take more and more, until they get what they really want. NO USE AT ALL WHEN IT COMES TO HUNTING!!! We had better wake up. Take care, Willie
