capoeirajosh Report post Posted November 13, 2013 How are mathews bows compared to other companies? I have never shot one. Are they the best out there? Is it worth the extra money? I am hopefully going to be getting a new bow in the near future and have been toying around with the idea of possibly sucking it up and getting a mathews. The bow that I am planning on getting is the Bear Method, which I fell in love with when I shot it. Comparable?
AverageJoe Report post Posted November 13, 2013 No they are not the best bows out there by any means. Lol. They are good as are all the bows these days. They are not worth the extra money. They are quiet and smooth but so are almost any of the top bow manufacturers. The bear i have tried was pretty impressive, think it was the carnage maybe. I am a bowtech shooter myself. I went through every company trying to find what felt best for me and the bowtech invasion is my favorite out of about 12 different bows i tried at the time. capoeirajosh Report post Posted November 13, 2013 I have heard many good things about the carnage. Do they still sell that? Also, heard good things about the anarchy.
bonecollector Report post Posted November 13, 2013 The best bow is the one that you are most comfortable with no matter the brand.
Ross Outdoors Report post Posted November 13, 2013 We recommend not going by brand, but what feels the best to you. It may not always be the most expensive bow that is right for you, try as many as you can get your hands on and go from there. Pretty much all of the bow companies that are still around make a quality bow. Good luck!
Curtis Reed Report post Posted November 13, 2013 They are still quality bows, but what turns me off about Matthews is they don't seem to be coming up with new state of the art technology. All the other bow makers like Bowtech, Hoyt and Elite are innovative. Matthews just seems to put out the same bow every year with their diamond shaped riser cutouts and lost camo colors
123456 Report post Posted November 13, 2013 I switched from a long time bowtech shooter to Mathews this year, and I could not be happier. All the higher end companies make good bows. Go shoot them all and see what you like. Every company seems to focus on different aspects of shootability. Go to archery headquarters, ross or Arizona archery and shoot some bows. Give your business to the shop that treats you right.
trphyhntr Report post Posted November 14, 2013 if you want the best, get a bowtech.
capoeirajosh Report post Posted November 14, 2013 Thanks guys! That is what I figured. I actually shot the Drive LT today at Ross. Pretty awesome bow.
Xforcebaby Report post Posted November 16, 2013 The issue with Mathews is they are slow compared to other bows. The trend is for speed. They are awesome bows, but try the PSE's. Smooth, fast and accurate. The Vendetta I shoot is awesome. Awesome price too. Awesome!

The 2014 Drive LT that I shot is pretty awesome. The price is a lot better on the PSE's as well. I feel like I am getting way more bang for the buck with them.
