Guest akaspecials Report post Posted November 13, 2013 I've bought 3 or 4 sets of cheap walmart camo over the years and don't wash any clothes during the hunt.
CouesPursuit Report post Posted November 13, 2013 August can be different, but for the late hunt, I switch out my base layers daily and rotate 3 camo outfits for outer wear. My best outfit day 1 & 4 second best 2 & 5 third 3 & 6 That's my strategy anyway. Good luck, Scooter!
ThomC Report post Posted November 13, 2013 Hang clothes out in the wind on a rope with clothes pins, or in a pine tree. And rotate. Ask a soldier.
Scooter Report post Posted November 13, 2013 ThomC, I am a soldier. We either had laundry service or hand washed in tubs or buckets... Or not at all. I grabbed a 5 gallon bucket and some sport wash. I'm gonna be in the field for the entire late archery hunt so my 4 sets of outerwear are certainly going to need a freshening at some point. Hopefully I can find a campsite with places to run 550 cord for a clothes line. Anybody else got a different plan?

In 2 weeks you have to go to town sometime, we would find a truck stop or KOA and shower and hit the laundromat, usually every 4 or 5 days.

Anybody else got a different plan? if you are going to that trailhead there is a camp spot right at the start of it and there is places to hang stuff. watch out for the cattle they ate my brother in laws practice arrows.. LOL! we awoke to cattle rummaging threw our stuff! if it is taken you'll need to find a spot about 1 mile before there. James

CouesWhitetail Report post Posted November 14, 2013 When I backpack hunt for a lot of days, I will just rinse or wash clothes in whatever water source is best and hang them to dry on a tree at basecamp. Campsuds is a great biodegradable soap that you can use for clothes, your body and as shampoo. nice stuff! http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=a9_sc_1?rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Acampsuds&keywords=campsuds&ie=UTF8&qid=1384437985
