Guest AZ>NMcouesaddict Report post Posted November 6, 2006 Well I definately felt like the non-resident that I am. I was the only one without a coues tag but I went down to help my brother and friends. They ended up with 4 out 5. My brother Joe and his friend Mark held out till the last day looking for a toad. It was an interesting hunt. My brother and our friend Kevin shot a pair of lions while scouting last year. Some would say they were lucky just seeing to lions right? Wrong. My brother has become a magnet for lions. While hunting on the third day they watched three lions surround and take down a fawn. They watched the whole thing through binos, the fawn almost got away but she tripped on a cactus and the lions did not let that opportunity get by. Anyways the stalked in and shot two of the lions, but unfortunately only recovered one. That same day, we talked to a mule deer hunter on the base of the mountain who also shot one of three lions he seen that morning and a friend of our friend killed a female a few miles away. That's alot of lions. Anyways, enjoy the pics and wish me luck for NM coues this weekend. the following photos are myself and Matt with his coues, Glynis' first coues, Mark's first coues, Robert's coues, and a phone photo of Mark's lion.
