Recommended Posts

My brother and I were just talkin about his early model rem 700 and the serial # ont it.

It has only 5 didgets and the first 3 are 124. Its a 20 inch barrel chamberd in .30-06.

Anybody out there that can tell me about this rifle ?

I can tell you alot. Tell him to clean than dang dirty gun again!!! And then again once more! Maybe you'll see the whole serial number once all the gunk is off of it.

lol, I'll tell him. He says I should use it on my elk hunt. If I do and it miss fires I will most likely wrap it around a pine tree lol.

Anyhow Wayne at the double x said them are some pretty low serial #s.

What do you think? And by the way, he just cleaned it today ;)

Not rare, but a great action. There are thousands of them. If it ends up around a tree, can you tell me where so I can go get the action? I have 2 that start with 12 maybe they are siblings. One is long the other is a 40x

Mainly used in the military without a scope. You open the bolt and shove 5rds in the mag held together by a strip of formed sheet metal that the case rims are slid into.

Same thing used with the springfield o3-a3 during both wars and Korea.
