Unit 33 Bear tag holders

Interested to see who else is holding 33 bear tags this year. I know of a few guys with the archery tag but nobody else with the rifle tag. I have one, just trying to find out who has the other four. Thanks.

I saw a bunch of bears in 33 from August-October with a few of them being monsters... Should have a good hunt this up coming spring!

How does one get a tag for bear in 33? I looked in the regs and didn't see 33 listed as one of the general rifle hunt units. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I don't think there is a rifle hunt for 33 only archery but I could be wrong I didn't pay that much attention to the spring regs this year.

Johnnie, yup.... it will be an extremely tough hunt, very few bears and low activity that time of year. I've spent a ton of time in that unit and will continue to do so. Its always been a goal of mine to kill a bear in 33... I'm not sure how doable it will be especially on the early hunt but I'm sure gonna try! Pela.... you have to put in for the tag there were 5 rifle hunts and 10 archery hunts in 33 this year, you could be looking in the wrong place.

I have seen bear scat, tracks, and rolled rocks from bears scavenging for insects on the north side of the Catalinas in the foothills.

Oh, I've seen a few. But over many years, and not during spring. I'd rather chase a yogi then a piggy any day though.

Was in 33 this morning and saw a sow and 2 Cubs while I was glassing for deer.
