Reward offered for information in poaching of doe near Tucson

Recommended Posts

Found this while reading the Arizona Daily Star. Hope they catch these creeps. Sounds like the same story that Rifle2Bow posted about poachers ruining his hunt.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department is offering a reward of up to $1,250 for information leading to an arrest in the fatal shooting of a young deer by a poacher in southern Arizona.

The department says the doe was shot by a man with a rifle at approximately 5 p.m. on Oct. 28 near Madera Canyon Road south of Tucson.

The shooter is described as between 30 to 35 years old, about 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds with short, light brown hair and wearing camouflage.

The shooter was accompanied by a man in his late 60s or early 70s. That man is described as 5-foot-9, 175 pounds with short salt-and-pepper graying hair.

Just thought I would share,

They forgot the part about the 8 beer cans. If they find him slap a littering while hunting citation too.

/>It seems hard to drink a beer out of a can without leaving fingerprints.
Too much CSI.

Kidding as cans are actually pretty good for prints. The problem is DPS will only compare prints lifted to a specific person, so they would need to print the suspect then wait forever for the comparison of the print lifted from the can.

DNA is much better as they do just throw that into a computer database and run that against all those arrested. Have had two DNA hits in 6 years, took about 1.5-2 years to get the results as both were burglary cases.

After the hit you have to go get another swab from the person to confirm the hit. For a poaching charge I'd say 3 year minimum to get it entered, as violent crimes (against people) take precedent.
