WildHeritageTaxidermy Report post Posted November 5, 2013 Alaskan Dall finished up....this ram had fallen off a cliff after being shot and tore his face open, since there was a large area of missing skin the client requested we repair the damaged areas to look like scars. ready2hunt Report post Posted November 5, 2013 Wow what a beautiful animal. You guys always do great works. When it come to capes like those...do ever have issues getting the blood off the hair or are the hides just bleached of sorts? I've always wondered that. We received the cape already salted and dried from the customers outfitter so we did not know how extensive the damage to the face was or how bad the blood stains were going to be. Here is a picture of the cape after we got it back from the Tannery. So yes, there is bleaching/whitening that needs to be done in shop before mounting. lol
