Elkhunter1 Report post Posted November 3, 2013 If it will kill humans why not a deer? I agree If NATO has been killing 175lb to 250lb men for like 50 + years then you should be more than capable of killing a 140lb Coues.
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted November 3, 2013 I may be wrong, I usually am but I thought the reason for the smaller 5.56 over the 7.62 (other than more round capacity) was to wound the enemy so it would take two to carry them out? I agree they kill but the purpose of it was to wound. Again, I may be wrong.

It tumbles inside, it doesn't expand like the hunting rounds we use.
NMBPMAN Report post Posted November 3, 2013 If you are reloading, I would try the 75 gr A-Max. I have had really good luck with A-Max bullets in different calibers. lf these are to be used in an AR platform just make sure they will fit into the magazines.
deserthntr Report post Posted November 3, 2013 I killed a lion with a 223 55 gr soft point at 400 yards 5 years ago... I don't think a coues would take anymore than a lion.
