I shot twice at my largest coues and took him with the second shot at 394 yds. My Weatherby 300 mag was sighted in for 300 yards and shoots better than my abilities. Took two at just under 300 and two more at less than 100 running away. Never lost a coues yet! My son (age 15) took one last year at 304 yds the last 45 mins of the hunt. Most important thing, IMO, is a super steady rest and good shooting form and practice, practice practice!!!

487 at a coues a few years back. Last years 103 incher was at 468 and took one shot through both shoulders with a 300WM. The key is to set up correctly, practice a lot, and know your limitations. Most shots have been closer though.

I shot one in Mexico in 2000 at 366 yds - it's on the Coues is King video. First shot of the bipod and the second shot off-hand as it hobbled away. Both bullets were within 2" of each other.

I shot one in 34A a number of years ago at 500+- yds that was trotting broadside. It took me 3 shots to figure out the lead and holdover- I was younger and dumber and wouldn't do that again now.

Shot a lion of the bipod at 510 yds- probably my longest shot at anything bigger than a coyote!
