tomuchworking Report post Posted October 22, 2013 Porter was more than excited when he heard he had drawn a cow tag in Unit 1 this fall. He killed a nice buck last year, so this year his focus was elk. We went out the first morning, and got on elk right off. At light we had a 5 point at 75 yards, screaming and ripping up a tree. Later we got on another small bull with a few cows, but never got a shot. We then found 5 small bulls enjoying a salt lick, and sat and watched them for about 20 minutes. At around 8:00 it was time. We had a small bull and a few cows just below us in some thick cover. We got him set up with a good rest and waited for a clear shot. Porter showed great patience, and waited for the right shot. Does it get any better?????????????
