Heavy game vests yesterday (no pics)

Two dudes working upland habitat without a dog- 18 total Scalies, 2 jackrabbits and a cottontail yesterday. The birds were located all over the place, but were holding tight and flushing at our feet early in the morning, then getting smarter and much more nervous sometimes running out 50 yards or more as the morning progressed. We had to "corner" them with patented two-man tactics to get them to hold up so we could make them flush. The bunnies were a bonus, and that made a pair of heavy and full game vests! GPS ran out of batteries, but I think we covered about 8 miles doing wide circles chasing the birds.

Big Browns- After riding in the back of a game vest, nothing looked pretty enough for a trophy picture... Maybe a nice food picture when I cook some up for dinner would suffice?

That's a bummer. I'm hoping to kill my first Scalie during my WT Hunt while I'm in 35A.

I'm leaving that spot alone for a few weeks, we've taken 23 birds out of there in two weeks and it's a relatively small area. The original covey was close to 50 birds by estimation. They split up into several smaller coveys of 8-12 as well as a few singles and pairs and they're spread out pretty wide since the first time I hunted them. I have enough of them to make a few meals- now onto calling coyotes again in the same area.
