Redman Report post Posted October 30, 2006 Another rifle season has come and gone and I was lucky enough to harvest a buck. I had a great time in an "undesired" coues unit. I even and met a fellow cousewhitetail member and witnessed his kill shot (which was the best I've ever seen....congrats (did you finish your bottle). I had a great time with a couple of friends. A year is a long time to wait. At least in two weeks my son will go on his first coues hunt. Come on all you successful hunters share your photos. Dodger2 Report post Posted October 30, 2006 Congrats! Looks like possibly 30B, Mule Mtns, maybe...just a guess since you said it was an undesirable unit.

Redman Report post Posted October 30, 2006 Congrats on the buck Redman. "Undesired coues unit?" Come on dude, you got to hunt these awesome deer in beautiful southern Az, sounds pretty "desirable" to me!!!! Hope your boy has as good of hunt as you did, good luck! Lets just say the odds of drawing that unit is better than others. I would pack up right now and go out there again (or any coues unit)! even if I was issued a tag that expires 3 hours after sun up! Not matter where, when or the conditions, there is nothing better than being on a hillside when the sun comes up! Redman
COUESAZ Report post Posted October 30, 2006 Redman glad that area panned out for you. The area i had talked to you about holds some great Bucks but they are hard to find and far between . I do know the area you are in and it is some rough stuff. I know one hunter on this site that has done very well in there. Love to see the back ground as well. good luck on your sons hunt. creed_az_88 Report post Posted October 30, 2006 Looks like 30A, undesirable for many, although i love it, and considering that the draw success is close to 100% most years. nice buck though. can't wait for nov. 10th. creed
