Big or Bust Report post Posted October 21, 2013 700 yards with a 9 power scope???? Is that on deer or paper off a bench???? Carlos Hathcock watch out....... Both. Bench and with bipod. Was ringing steel all weekend between 400 and 700 yards with a 9x on the top end. It's not difficult and no feat. A good load and rifle makes things real easy. KYLES96 Report post Posted October 21, 2013 Vortex Viper HS LR Long Range FFP 6-24x50mm I think I'd have to pull the trigger on this guy, not a huge fan of the 50mm look but that's probably just me. I think she's going for around 9 bills.
HUNTnTAT2 Report post Posted October 21, 2013 Just bought a vortex viper hs 4-16x44. Perdy happy w my purchase and its performance.I have it mounted on a Ruger M77(tang safety) in .270win. I'm primarily an archery hunter so learning the ballistics game has been a curve but its shooting perdy darn good. The guys at spotsmans in phx were a ton of help

roninflag Report post Posted October 21, 2013 i don't shoot a bow any more . not sure how 600 yards with a 30-06 compares to a certain distance with a bow (90yards??). it takes a good everything ( trigger ammo rifle scope ect) for 600 yards. i have shot against guys shooting a factory 30-06 in competion at 600 yards. their success depended on all of those things. in no particular order.
