Jimmyc Report post Posted October 19, 2013 This is reason 132 I will not spend my hard earned money at Walmart. They don't give one hoot about their employees. When good citizens step up and do the right thing. Employers like Walmart do this. Sad for the employee.

Snapshot Report post Posted October 19, 2013 That seems to be a common trend in today's society. Stand up to the bad guy, and get fired.I had an incident a few weeks ago. I got to work early to have my coffee and listen to the radio. There was a drunken, psycho, crackhead, standing in the trash dumpster throwing garbage and smashing bottles in our parking lot, and yelling at the world.I approached him at a distance, and told him he had to leave the property or I would call the police. He started swearing, and calling me every name in the book. I went over to my truck to get my cellphone to call the Police, and he jumped out of the dumpster and approached me in a hostile manner. The guy was so whacked out, he didn't realize how close he was to ending up in a bodybag.A guy across the street saw what was happening, and came running over, and we ended up chasing this guy off. The whacko went across the street, and started throwing gravel at us. Moral of the story..........Cops wouldn't come to the property for 1-2 hours, and I didn't want to lose my job for violence, unless necessary. Next time I call 911......I will ask if the sound of gunshots and screaming will get the police there quickly. They always seem to have the time to give out traffic tickets.

Snapshot Report post Posted October 19, 2013 Looks like the dude was offered his job back. I imagine negative public opinion made Wally World think about it. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/19/walmart-offers-job-back-to-worker-fired-after-helping-assault-victim/
Coach Report post Posted October 20, 2013 Ya just have to ask yourself, 'What would John Wayne Do?" Step up, be a man, do the right thing and if you get fired for it, wear it like a badge of honor. Easy for me to say, I'm a software engineer - lol.

I would not have hesitated to remind him just how close he was. That meets the criteria for defensive display at the very least...
Snapshot Report post Posted October 21, 2013 My John Wayne attitude gets me in trouble on occasion. I try hard to be a little more logical about situations. John Wayne could afford expensive lawyers. I can't.
muleskinner Report post Posted October 22, 2013 Just another reminder to we who are willing to get involved in pushing back against the thugs...only an elite few are qualified to engage in defense of life and property...so that elite few are the only ones who should be armed. We who are poor, ignorant, and unenlightened have no business protecting ourselves or our neighbors to the point of armed resistance. And the beat goes on! DesertBull Report post Posted October 22, 2013 You can blame the Legal system and frivolous law suits for the Walmart reaction. I'd bet almost all big corps would react the same way.
